I love lions--safely restrained in a zoo jungle habitat, where I can watch them roam and hear them roar--from a distance. So please don't call me to join your African safari--I won't be there! I'll opt to watch your videos when you get safely back!
Jungles--man-made or real--are the perfect place for any lion to be free to roam and to roar...except...that jungle where we live! It's called the "real world"--and there's a "real lion" out there roaring away--at us, against us, behind us, before us--you can't escape. His roar is vicious. His actions are vile. He will lie, cheat, steal, kill and destroy. He will cause anxiety, fear, defeat, despair, despondency, discouragement--he's an expert in roarin' rage--and rage he does. What to do?
Resist him in the power of the Lord--and then run to the REAL Lion--the Lion of the Tribe of Judah--the One who REIGNS supreme, over all, the One who conquered sin and Satan on the Cross. The lion may roar--but he can't REIGN in your life when the King resides there. AND He's a King who knows how to SHUT the lion's mouth--He did it for Daniel and He can do it for you! So fear not--"Greater is he that is within you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)." Believe it--and have a wonderful, fear-free day!
Scripture:
"Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, like a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour; whom resist steadfast in the faith... (1 Peter 5:8,9)."
"...behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed...(Revelation 5:5)."
Prayer: "Lord, the lion's roarin', loud and clear, and I need You. I'm no match for him--but YOU are! Help me to put on the armor of the Lord each day, to resist his advances and his roars, to call upon your Name, and know that You, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, reign forevermore, are in control and will bring victory now and for all eternity, In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Great Truths
GREAT TRUTHS THAT CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
~ No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
~ When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
~ If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
~ Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
~ You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
~ Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
~ Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
~ You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
~ Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
~ The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.
GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
~ Raising teenagers is like nailing Jell-O to a tree.
~ Wrinkles don't hurt.
~ Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
~ Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
~ Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
~ Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.
GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD
~ Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
~ Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
~ When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
~ You get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
~ It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
~ Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
~ Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

Today's quote:
"Instead of putting their pictures up in the Post Office, why don't they just put pictures of criminals on the postage stamps so the mailmen could look for them while they deliver the mail?"
Have a great day serving the Lord!
